Program Objectives:

After viewing  this lecture, the participant should be able to:

  1. Describe Doppler physics principles and factors affecting the qualitative and
    quantitative assessment of blood flow.

  2. Explain how to optimize system controls for accurate blood flow evaluation using
    spectral and color Doppler instrumentation.

  3. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of pulsed wave and continuous Doppler
    instrumentation.

  4. Describe color and power Doppler instrumentation, and list the specific clinical
    applications for each.

  5. Demonstrate commonly seen artifacts associated with spectral Doppler, color Doppler,
    and Doppler imaging.
