Description:
This 2-day comprehensive review is designed for physicians preparing to take the ARDMS Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) board examination. The course is based on the information included on the ARDMS RPVI examination content outline and is structured with exam specific tutorials, interactive case presentations and a “mock” examination using an audience response system.

As an added bonus, each participant who attends the review at our St. Pete Beach, FL facility will receive the results of the mock examination within two weeks after the program to identify specific areas of strength and weakness. A comprehensive course syllabus is also included (PDF syllabus will be available for download for webinar participants). The program is taught by leading experts in the vascular ultrasound profession.

Objectives:
1. Discuss Doppler/Color physics, factors affecting optimal Doppler examinations and commonly seen Doppler/Color artifacts, which may affect diagnostic accuracy.
2. Explain routine scan protocols and analyze normal spectral waveform signatures, color characteristics, and Doppler measurements in a normal carotid and peripheral vascular examinations.
3. Recognize abnormal spectral Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral arterial and venous disease.
4. Discuss the role of indirect testing in the evaluation of lower extremity arterial/venous disease.
5. Review complex carotid and peripheral vascular case studies in interactive interpretation session format.
6. Explain the role of ultrasound in the post-intervention examination.
7. Describe ultrasound findings associated with aortic endograft leaks.
8. Describe normal and abnormal spectral Doppler charcteristics and diagnostic criteria associated with renal artery evaluation and dialysis access graft evaluation.
9. Discuss the role of TCD vascular ultrasound and TCD examination findings.
10. Increase the participants’ knowledge to better interpret vascular ultrasound procedures.
11. Identify areas of weakness to better prepare for the RPVI examination.
