| Upon completion of the event the participant should be able to: 1. Describe normal anatomy of the appendix and other structures in right lower quadrant. 2. Explain and perform the routine protocol for ultrasound evaluation of the appendix. 3. Discuss indications and diagnostic criteria for ruling in appendicitis.
4. Explain the capabilities and limitations of ultrasound evaluation of the appendix. 5. Increase the participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or interpret ultrasound examinations of the appendix. 6. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting (ideally under supervised conditions) until an acceptable level of proficiency has been achieved. | | Target Audience Physicians, sonographers and other medical professionals interested in imaging and evaluating the appendix.
